We have been delivering long-burning wood boilers since 2010. Today, a long-burning wood boiler is still a relevant product, especially when paired with heat pump, electric heating and as a backup in the event of a power outage. A cost-effective solution for reducing electricity consumption. A long-burning wood boiler is suitable for connection to sites with electricity, geothermal heat pump, air-to-water heat pump, electric storage tank and underfloor heating.
A long-burning wood boiler is filled with wood and burns from top to bottom for 12 - 24 hours and with wood briquettes for up to 36 hours continuously, depending on the heat demand, using a self-regulating and downward-moving combustion air supply system.
An air-to-water heat pump and a long-burning wood boiler work great together. Installation on the return of the boiler is the most common solution - when the ppp boiler turns off and the return line cools down, the vilppi continues from there automatically.
Using a storage tank - the operation of the lbw boiler is similar to that of an oil and pellet boiler - i.e. the fire intensifies according to the need for heat, and a large heat accumulator is not needed. However, a heat accumulator improves efficiency, the recommendation is 20L per kW of lwb boilers power.
In addition to the best-in-class synergy, the high-efficiency boiler package also includes safety valves, an expansion tank, a water circulation pump and much more. A long-burning wood boiler makes sense to use in the summer for domestic water production.
If you add to this the Air-to-water heat pump from the Profil.fi sister store, you get a really economical heating system that also produces plenty of domestic water and where wood burning can be minimized to a few frosty days in winter or, conversely, maximized and electricity bills minimized.
Power selection - a long-burning wood boiler is better the bigger it is, because a larger boiler can hold more wood and its fire is longer and more even. No power is wasted because the fire is adjusted steplessly, as needed, not all at once. The rule of thumb for wood heating is 1.5-2kW of power per 10m2 of surface area.
Efficiency - a long-burning wood boiler has been tested and certified according to EN 303-5:2012 and meets the 5th class.
This wood boiler fulfills the 2 most important rules of efficient wood burning: 1. the fire chamber progresses from top to bottom (but not through the wood!) 2. the combustion air is fed precisely into the fire core. As an extra - the combustion air has already been heated to over 100C.
